I Know Who Holds the Future by Jean Martz "I know who holds the future, And I know who holds my hand, With God things don't just happen, Everything by Him is planned; So as I face tomorrow With its problems large and small, I'll trust the God of miracles- Give to Him my all." —A.B. Smith If we could only get a little peek
into the year to come, we probably would feel we could prepare ourselves better to handle the problems, the rough times, the traumatic experiences and even the blessings. But, because that is impossible, how would the Lord have us prepare for the coming year? First of all, we must know Jesus as our own personal Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-13). Then we must commit ourselves unconditionally to His plan, knowing that things don't just happen, for the Lord told us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For
I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end." Therefore, let us trust Him, claim His grace, His strength, His wisdom, His patience for the future days. Let us filter all the year's challenges and blessings through Romans 8:28, "For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." The Lord will truly be working all
things together for our good in the coming year. Rejoice! In Him, Jean Martz |
